Burger King launches breakfast kids meal
By The Associated Press 07/21/2010
MIAMI (AP) -- Fast-food chain Burger King is introducing a "kids' meal" for breakfast for $3.38, beginning Monday.

The meal includes an egg-and-cheese English muffin sandwich, apple fries and apple juice.

While many fast-food chains offer children's meals, at breakfast they are unusual. But fast-food chains have been focusing on breakfast as a way to boost revenue. Wendy's, which traditionally does not serve breakfast, has been testing the option.

Sandwich chain Subway, which has the most locations of any U.S. fast-food chain, rolled out a nationwide breakfast menu earlier this year.

Burger King Holdings Inc. said its "Kids Meal" has fewer than 560 calories. Its other kids meals include a hambuger, chicken tenders and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, each with apple fries and other items.

Burger King is based in Miami.
