The Madison City Commission will discuss an agreement between the city and Interlakes Community Action Partnership during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday in City Hall.
ICAP and Madison officials had agreed on an exclusive option to purchase city property during 2010.
In December 2008, ICAP and the city agreed to a 12-month option agreement that gave the nonprofit organization an opportunity to purchase a half-block of downtown property. The agreement was renewed this winter so that it could stay in effect during 2010.
In 2008, ICAP announced plans to move its offices across Van Eps Ave. onto land previously occupied by Rosebud Manufacturing. ICAP officials have been making preparations to build new offices and a Head Start facility on the half-block between Center and S.W. 1st streets.
In other business Monday, the commissioners will consider:
-- Acknowledging an application to transfer a liquor license from Skinners Package Liquor to Lewis Drug and setting a hearing date.
-- Approving specifications for improvements to municipal Well No. 8 and setting a bidletting date.
-- Authorizing the mayor to sign an application for a domestic violence network grant to help operate a shelter for individuals and families.
-- Reviewing letters of support for the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System that will be mailed to South Dakota's congressional delegation.
-- Reviewing information that will appear in the city report for 2009.
The commissioners will hold an executive session at the end of their meeting to discuss legal and contract negotiations.
The commissioners have also scheduled a Board of Equalization meeting at 5:10 p.m. before their regular weekly meeting.
