The Madison City Commission will consider approving changes to the municipal laws concerning the Sunday sale of alcohol during its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
The city commissioners will hear the second reading of changes allowing the Sunday sale of alcohol and the providing of free samples to customers by off-sale license holders and consider their approval.
The commissioners will also consider:
-- Acknowledging the transfer application concerning an alcohol license from Ron Beckman of Cherry Lanes to Olson Enterprises of Cherry Lanes. Jim Olson of Olson Enterprises has also requested a license to operate video lottery machines.
-- Allocating contingency funds to purchase more mosquito spray.
-- Authorizing the mayor to sign construction plans for taxiway construction at the Madison Municipal Airport.
-- Reviewing bids for a surplus payloader.
-- Authorizing the mayor to sign an amended agreement for employment concerning improvements at the municipal wastewater treatment plant.
-- Extending the 2010 deadline for sidewalk installation.
