Mary Kate Sershen, daughter of Steve and Nancy Sershen of Chester, is the recipient of the Chapter CP P.E.O. local scholarship for 2010.
Presenting the $500 scholarship check to Sershen was Sandy Anderson, Chapter CP.
Sershen is a 2008 graduate of Chester High School and is majoring in business with a minor in German at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.
PEO is a philanthropic educational organization that promotes the education of women by offering various loans, grants and scholarships. It owns and operates Cottey College, a women's two-year liberal arts college in Nevada, Mo.
