DSU experiences temporary power outage
Keating

The main campus at Dakota State University lost power on Monday afternoon when a fuse blew in the sectional switch that's part of the college's electrical system. According to Pat Keating, director of DSU's physical plant, the blown fuse knocked out one phase of the university's three-phase electricity supply at about 3:30 p.m. Keating estimated that the power interruption lasted for about an hour.

The Madison City Commission gave its approval on Monday to a letter drafted by the Madison Housing and Redevelopment Commission that outlined renovation plans at Lakeview Tower for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Civil hearing to delay Oldham-Ramona school project is rescheduled

A court hearing that seeks to delay the beginning of a construction project at the Oldham-Ramona School in Ramona has been rescheduled in October. Superintendent John Bjorkman said the court hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, has been delayed until Oct. 18.

Thurk family joins P.V. Jamboree for first time

Chris Turk of Lakeview, Minn., directs his son Jeremy into the right parking spot for the family's Model 570 Cockshutt tractor. The Thurks are participating in the Prairie Village jamboree for the first time this summer and have transported two restored Cockshutt tractors to the event. The 570 is a model built in 1961, the last production year for the Canadian tractor company.
