Gaspardo sent back to prison A Madison man who pled guilty in 2005 to aggravated assault and possession of a controlled weapon was resentenced Monday in Third Circuit Court to his original prison sentence despite receiving a review of his court case. Full Story
The main campus at Dakota State University lost power on Monday afternoon when a fuse blew in the sectional switch that's part of the college's electrical system. According to Pat Keating, director of DSU's physical plant, the blown fuse knocked out one phase of the university's three-phase electricity supply at about 3:30 p.m. Keating estimated that the power interruption lasted for about an hour. A court hearing that seeks to delay the beginning of a construction project at the Oldham-Ramona School in Ramona has been rescheduled in October. Superintendent John Bjorkman said the court hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, has been delayed until Oct. 18. Full Story
Chris Turk of Lakeview, Minn., directs his son Jeremy into the right parking spot for the family's Model 570 Cockshutt tractor. The Thurks are participating in the Prairie Village jamboree for the first time this summer and have transported two restored Cockshutt tractors to the event.
