One county petition filed, another circulating
By ELISA SAND, Staff Reporter 03/04/2010
Register of Deeds Penny Boatwright has filed her petition to run for re-election.

Boatwright has been the Lake County register of deeds since 1973. Hers is among three county positions and two commission seats up for re-election this spring.

Other positions up for election include auditor and sheriff. Sheriff Roger Hartman has filed his petition for re-election, and commission petitions have been filed by Craig Johannsen and Scott Pedersen.

Earlier this week, Auditor Kay Schmidt announced her plans not to seek re-election. Deputy Auditor Bobbi Janke notified the press Thursday morning that she is circulating a petition for auditor which she plans to file on Friday. Janke has been an employee in the auditor's office for 22 years.
