Lake County Sheriff Tim Walburg reports that his office responded to three weather-related incidents last week when winter weather conditions hit the area for the first time.
Two cars went into the ditch due to icy road conditions, he said. Neither vehicle received any damage.
At 7:20 a.m. on Friday, a two-vehicle crash occurred on SD-34 near the intersection of 463rd Ave. Abigail Williams of Egan was westbound on SD-34 in a 2007 Chevy Uplander when she lost control on the icy roadway, crossed the center line and struck a 2015 GMC Sierra driven by Kyle Heyn of Wentworth.
Damage to the two vehicles is estimated at $4,000 each. Both vehicles could be driven away from the scene.
