The Howard Tigers had two runners who participated in the boys 5,000-meter varsity boys race at the John Collignon Invitational Cross Country Meet on Friday at the Madison Country Club.

Caden Schwader was 18th with a time of 20:32.92 while Connor Giedd was 26th with a time of 22:03.89.

Winning the race was Brookings’ Torry Harding with a time of 17:51.11. Thirty-six runners finished the race.

Both Howard and Oldham-Ramona-Rutland had two runners who competed in the girls varsity 3,000-meter race. Howard’s Jayden Jaynes was 15th with a time of 24:55.75 and Hailey Kizer was 19th with a time of 26:51.67.

O-R-R’s Briella Wettlaufer was 13th in 24:37.65 and Josie Nold was 14th in 24:38.50.

Isabelle Bloker of Sioux Valley won the race with a time of 20:48.69. There were 21 runners.


Two O-R- R runners and one Howard runner competed in the girls 4,000-meter junior varsity race.

Howard’s Natalie Martian was 19th with a time of 22:55.61.
