Each year, the Agriculture Council of America discusses Ag Day on the national level, but locally we feel it necessary to extend our sincere “thanks.” Agriculture provides almost everything we eat, use and wear on a daily basis. Each American farmer feeds more than 165 people – a dramatic increase from 25 people in the 1960s. As the world population continues to soar, there is even a greater demand for the food and fiber produced in the United States. Agriculture is our #1 export and is extremely important to a healthy economy.

March 22, 2022, is National Ag Day. This is a perfect time to reflect on and be grateful for American agriculture. On behalf of the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee, a huge thank you to local individuals working within agriculture.
